Nintendo has finally revealed the successor console to the Nintendo Switch in a short promotional video. It’s called Nintendo Switch 2 and, true to the extensive leaks, it appears to be a larger and more powerful version of its predecessor.

Considering the basic Nintendo Switch costs $299, the Nintendo Switch Lite costs $199, and the Nintendo Switch OLED costs $399, a price point of around $400 for the Nintendo Switch 2 seems pretty on point with the current scale. This is also the price many fans predicted it might cost and the price most are willing to pay.

With CES 2025 finally in the rearview, it’s time to move on to the next round of big hardware announcements. Rumors have emerged over the last few weeks, pointing to an imminent announcement for the next-generation of Nintendo’s wildly successful hybrid Switch console.

For nearly eight years, the Nintendo Switch has found a huge foothold in the gaming world, coming dangerously close to having sold 150 million lifetime units at the time of writing. But eight years is a long time for a video game console to be on the market.
