Leonardo da Vinci's famed "Mona Lisa" portrait is getting a new home at Paris' Louvre while the museum undergoes renovations.

The world's most visited museum is also overcrowded, antiquated and desperate for renovations that will start next year and include separate space and tickets for Mona Lisa.

Last spring, the world’s most-visited art museum, the Louvre in Paris, proposed moving its most popular artwork—Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa—to its own subterranean room. Now, that idea is becoming reality.

The Leonardo da Vinci masterpiece that visitors crowd in to see will get a dedicated room as the Paris museum is renovated and expanded in a major overhaul that will take years, the French president announced Tuesday.

The Mona Lisa will get its own dedicated gallery inside the Louvre Museum which is due to undergo major renovations and expansion.

French President Emmanuel Macron announced Tuesday that the “Mona Lisa” will get its own dedicated room inside the Louvre museum under a major renovation and expansion of the Paris landmark that will take up to a decade.

The "Mona Lisa" is to get its own new room at the Louvre art museum in Paris, allowing it to be shown off to even better advantage for visitors. The legendary Leonardo da Vinci painting is to be given a room that better reflects its importance as part of an extensive renovation of the museum,
