A U.S. Navy sailor convicted in Japan of causing a fatal traffic accident in 2024 is facing a civil lawsuit by the victim’s family.
The sailor was "involved in a motor-vehicle incident with a Japanese national on Sept. 18, 2024," a Navy spokesperson said.
