It was reported on Wednesday that Glenn was sought after for an interview by the Patriots, who have a long history of prioritizing defensive-minded head coaches.

However, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, on Thursday afternoon, Detroit Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn denied New England an interview request. Glenn's denial comes just one day after the Patriots finally requested to interview the veteran coach. This may have been done for a few reasons.

Aaron Glenn has five head-coaching interviews scheduled for the coming days. But one of those will not be with the New England Patriots.
