An Israeli airstrike targeted a building in an upscale neighborhood, destroying an apartment that neighbors said had been vacant for years.

Israel on Thursday launched an airstrike on a building in Damascus, according to Syrian state media. It is understood that the attack targeted an area known to house Palestinian leaders, killing at least one person.
