If you're looking to grab a large phone that's got lots of power, great cameras, and fantastic software the Galaxy S24 Ultra is going to be it. And while the big sale might have ended, Samsung is having an event of its own, with the Galaxy S24 Ultra getting a sweet discount that knocks up to $300 off for a limited time.

And their weights and dimensions also differ – the iPhone 16 Pro Max is 163 x 77.6 x 8.3mm and 227g, while the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is 162.3 x 79 x 8.6mm and 232g. So the Samsung phone is marginally shorter, wider, thicker, and heavier, but there’s very little in it.

We also got a look at the updated One UI 7 skin that should launch on the S25 series. Samsung officially confirmed that the One UI 7 public beta is coming before the end of 2024, but no specific date has been released. Samsung is expected to reveal the S25 series of phones in January of 2025.

When buying the Galaxy S24 Ultra, the most recent Galaxy phone Amazon will accept for trade-in is the Galaxy S21 Ultra, which it priced at $135. Samsung values the exact same handset at $600. A mind-bogglingly large gap in valuation between the two companies.

While there were cases, like the pumpkin stem, where the iPhone 16 Pro and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 outclassed the Canon on sharpness and detail, nothing beats the Canon EOS RP for color accuracy.

With the iPhone 16 Pro Max sitting tall on the best phones throne, it's an opportunity for Samsung to add the necessary upgrades and features that could make the Galaxy S25 Ultra beat the iPhone 16 Pro Max.
