“Happy Gilmore 2,″ due out July 25, is directed by Kyle Newacheck (Sandler’s 2019 film “Murder Mystery”) and was written by Sandler and Tim Herlihy, who wrote the first “ Happy Gilmore .”

The wait is over! Fans hungry for Happy Gilmore 2, the sequel to Adam Sandler’s 1996 golf comedy, can mark their calendars for its Netflix premiere on July 25. A new trailer for the movie shows Sandler reprising his role as a former hockey player who channels his temper into golf.

Premiere July 25, the film sees Sandler back as the iconic Happy — only this time, it looks like he’s hung up his golf clubs. Something compels him to return to the golf course, however, with Virginia (Julie Bowen) telling him, “We’re not done with golf.”
