Former Dallas Stars head coach Pete DeBoer is wasting no time in joining another hockey team’s coaching staff. On Monday morning, Team Canada announced its full staff that will serve under current Tampa Bay Lightning head coach Jon Cooper for the upcoming 2026 Winter Olympic Games, and the former Stars coach was included.

Bruce Cassidy is going to the 2026 Olympics. The Vegas Golden Knights coach was named as one of Team Canada’s assistant coach on Monday, Hockey Canada announced. Peter DeBoer, Misha Donskov and Rick Tocchet were also named assistants. They join Jon Cooper, who was named coach.

Tocchet was hired as coach of the Philadelphia Flyers on May 14. He spent the previous three seasons as coach of the Vancouver Canucks, winning the Jack Adams Award in 2024. He is 286-265-87 in nine seasons with the Canucks, Arizona Coyotes and Lightning. Cooper was named coach for the 4 Nations Face-Off and the Olympics on June 25, 2024.
