A 24-year-old man who stands accused of slaying his little brother with a pickaxe was charged on Monday with murder and corporal injury to a child, according to the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office.

Zuberi Sharp, 24, is the son of Calvin Sharp, who is now serving life without parole for murdering a 6-year-old.

The 24-year-old man, identified in sheriff radio communications and booking records as Zuberi Sharp, was being investigated for a death Thursday at a house in the 400 block of Jeanne Court.

According to the Ventura County Sheriff's Department (VCSD), officers initially responded to a call in the area of Jeanne Court and Gerald Drive after a teenager in the home suffered blunt force trauma.
