PAGASA: Super Typhoon Uwan makes landfall over Dinalungan, Aurora
The center of the eye of Super Typhoon Uwan has made landfall over Dinalungan, Aurora, the state weather bureau said on Sunday night.
Typhoon Uwan (Fung-Wong) is rapidly intensifying, projected to make landfall over Isabela/Aurora Sunday night. Pagasa raised TCWS No. 1 over parts of Mindanao (Dinagat, Surigao) and warned of life-threatening storm surges up to three meters.
The statement 'redraw coastlines' stems from the agency's warning of storm surges up to and exceeding 3 metres in low-lying coastal areas of eastern Luzon, including regions such as Quezon (Polillo Islands), Catanduanes, Albay, and Sorsogon.
Four areas in Northern and Central Luzon are under Signal No. 5 as Super Typhoon Uwan continues to batter the country with its destructive typhoon-force winds, the state weather bureau said on Sunday night.
