Tropical Storm Dexter is still moving deeper into the central Atlantic Ocean. It's still moving away from land and will become extratropical over the next day or two. Elsewhere, a low could develop east of Florida and south of the Carolinas that could bring them late-week rain.

There’s a new tropical storm in the Atlantic Ocean, and two other disturbances that have a shot to get names as well. The National Hurricane Center named Tropical Storm Dexter late Sunday while it was several hundred miles off the coast of North Carolina. Dexter is headed away from the United States, however.
