Several vehicles were carried away by the swift currents, showcasing the fatality of the flooding triggered by Cyclone Fengal-caused rain.

In several parts of Villupuram and the neighboring Cuddalore district vehicles were submerged in up to two feet of water with many roads completely submerged. The Thenpennai River overflowed and trees were uprooted in many areas.
