Spirit Airlines is out of bankruptcy, hitting its target to emerge in the first quarter, after a crippling few years.

U.S. carrier Spirit Airlines , long known for its no-frills service, said on Wednesday it was pushing ahead with plans to rebrand itself as a premium airline as it emerged from bankruptcy protection after four months.

Spirit Airlines has emerged from its Chapter 11 restructuring, having reduced its debt by approximately $795 million.

Spirit filed for bankruptcy back in November, following years of struggles and mounting debt as it failed to bounce back from the COVID-19 pandemic.
