A highly anticipated women's basketball matchup between No. 2 South Carolina and No. 5 LSU, planned for Thursday, will be postponed to Friday because of a winter storm, the Southeastern Conference announced Wednesday.

The Southeastern Conference has postponed Thursday night's women's basketball game between No. 5 LSU and No. 2 South Carolina in Columbia, South Carolina, until Friday because of winter weather.The decision Wednesday comes a day after Winter Storm Enzo dropped about a foot of snow in parts of south Louisiana and made travel hazardous in subtropical communities that possess little in the way of snow-clearing equipment for roads and airports.

South Carolina women’s basketball’s matchup with No. 4 LSU has been moved to Friday. The game, initially scheduled for Thursday at 8 p.m. in Colonial Life Arena, will now be played on Friday, January 25 at 5 p.m. The decision to move the game comes due to travel issues brought on by Winter Storm Enzo, an release from the SEC said.
