The University of New Mexico campus has been shut down and students have been told to shelter in place after an early-morning shooting.

Two illegal immigrants are being charged with shooting an off-duty U.S. Customs and Border Protection Officer in the face during a New York City robbery. Dominican nationals Miguel Francisco Mora Nunez, 21, and Christhian Aybar-Berroa, 22, are facing charges for the attack, federal authorities announced Thursday.

BATTLE CREEK, MI -- A 34-year-old Springfield man who police say shot his sister in an arm was caught in an I-94 traffic stop, police said. The woman was shot about 9:20 p.m. Thursday, July 24 in the 100 block of Inn Road in Battle Creek.

Denver police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early Friday morning on Pearl Street. The agency said it identified two victims, including one who died. A spokesperson for the police department could not immediately be reached for comment regarding the second victim or any potential suspect.
