Deva is a remake of Rosshan’s 2013 Malayalam film Mumbai Police, which had Prithviraj Sukumaran in the lead role. Shahid plays ACP Dev Ambre, a man who loses his memory while trying to solve his best friend’s murder. Pooja plays his lover, a reporter called Diya Sathaye. Pavail Gulati and Kubbra Sait also play key roles in it.

Deva was released on January 31, 2025, and the movie has been doing decent at the box office. The Shahid Kapoor starrer also stars Pooja Hegde in the lead.

Helmed by Rosshan Andrrews, the movie minted ₹2.35 crore at the box office in India, according to early estimates reported by Sacnilk. Adding the 6-day collection, the total stands at ₹26.65 crore at the domestic box office. Deva had an overall 9.29 per cent Hindi occupancy on Wednesday with the maximum reported in NCR (12.50 per cent).

Shahid Kapoor, who was last seen in Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya (2024), brought his new release, Deva in theaters this year. Speaking of which, the action thriller has failed to meet the expectations of cinephiles.
