Semiconductor giant Nvidia (NVDA) has been hitting new market-cap milestones at an unprecedented pace. Last year, it joined the $1 trillion market cap club, while its valuation surpassed $2 trillion in February this year.

On November 26, Venu Krishna, head of US equity strategy at Barclays, joined Yahoo Finance to share his opinion on the stock market, particularly the tech sector. Krishna raised his S&P 500 price target for 2025 to 6,600 and shed light on why he believes such is possible.

The past two years have been absolutely phenomenal for Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA) investors, as shares of the graphics card specialist shot up 736% during this period once it became evident that the company is going to play a central role in the proliferation of artificial intelligence (AI).

Nvidia (NVDA 2.15%) was the single best performing stock in the S&P 500 (\^GSPC 0.56%) in 2023, and it ranks as the fourth-best performing member of the index year to date in 2024.

Wall Street’s AI darling, fell on Monday following reports that a senior executive had met with Chinese officials. The stock slip comes amid Nvidia’s stellar performance last week, which exceeded expectations.
