The organizers of this weekend's upcoming "No Kings" protests have issued a video reminding people about the event. The video, released on the No Kings website, reminds those planning to attend of details and calls on people to join the protests.
Organizers are hoping strong attendance will show grassroots opposition, as well as a contrast to a planned military parade in Washington the same day.
Gov. Ron DeSantis said the state is ready to handle any violence that may happen at "No Kings" protests across the state.
As of June 6, seven No Kings protests are planned in the metro-east and greater St. Louis area. No Kings organizers wrote in a June 6 email to the News-Democrat that while more than 1,500 protests are currently planned, the organizers expect more than 1,600 to be slated nationwide by the weekend of June 7 and 8.
