The Cleveland Browns surprisingly decided to use two mid-round picks on quarterbacks in last month's NFL draft, and it sounds like one of them was their primary target.
CLEVELAND, Ohio — When the NFL schedule dropped, Browns analysts Mary Kay Cabot and Dan Labbe weren’t focused on opponents or bye weeks. Instead, they were stunned by a glaring omission that speaks volumes about how the league views Cleveland heading into 2025.
The Cleveland Browns eventually drafted former Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft. However, the Browns did not select Sanders until they and every other NFL franchise passed on him multiple times. Sanders went from being a projected first-round pick to not being selected until No. 144 overall.
The Browns and their AFC North brethren have the misfortune of being matched up against the NFC North in 2025. Cleveland will host the Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings and hit the road to face off with the Chicago Bears and Detroit Lions.

With their final preseason game at home and Week 1 against the Cincinnati Bengals at home, Cleveland will have a chance to regroup following training camp without any travel. Before the trip to London, the Browns will only have away games to face the Baltimore Ravens and Detroit Lions, drivable trips for most fans.
