The December transfer portal will open on Dec. 9, and players are already stating their intentions to enter and leave their current school. New Mexico State is no stranger to the portal, having gained and lost dozens of players from its 2023 team that finished 10-5 and reached the Conference USA Championship Game.

As the 2024 college football regular season comes to an end, much of the sport’s focus now turns to the 2025 transfer portal cycle, as potentially thousands of players prepare to take their chance at another school in time for next season hoping to find the right fit.
