With the threat of severe storms and flooding throughout the region, a number of Middle Tennessee school districts have canceled classes Thursday. Cheatham County Schools was among the first to close.

Some Middle Tennessee students will have long weekends as school districts began canceling Friday classes Thursday afternoon amid an ongoing threat of severe weather. Cheatham and Robertson County Schools will both be closed Friday as severe weather continues to play a significant role in the forecast.

With the threat of severe storms and flooding throughout the region, Middle Tennessee schools are canceling classes Thursday. Cheatham County Schools was among the first to close. The district said in a release that all extra-curricular activities and extended daycare will also be canceled.

Audrey Hale didn’t care that The Covenant School was a Christian school. The 28-year-old woman wanted to kill children and get famous, Nashville police have concluded after a two-year criminal investigation into the March 2023 shooting that left three children and three staff members dead.

Just over two years after three children and three staff members were killed at the Covenant School, the Metro Nashville Police Department closed the investigation believing the shooter's primary motive to be notoriety.
