Investigators are working to determine if strong wind gusts are to blame for the deadly collapse of a home under construction on the South Shore that killed a father of two.

A 29-year-old construction worker died Tuesday after a house under construction on Vine Street in Weymouth collapsed.

The collapse occurred at a building under construction at 19 Vine St., said Weymouth police Chief Richard Fuller.

Mario Diaz Obando, 29, of Fall River, Massachusetts died at South Shore Hospital after he was critically injured during the collapse, Norfolk District Attorney Michael W. Morrissey confirmed Tuesday evening.
