The family of Hannah Kobayashi, a Hawaii woman who vanished in L.A. after missing a connecting flight to New York, hit back at claims made by LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell about the case.

Hannah Kobayashi was en route to New York City in early November. She arrived in Los Angeles for a brief layover and hasn't been seen since.

The father of a Hawaii woman who went missing two weeks ago was found dead on Sunday, the Los Angeles Police Department said.

“She boarded a plane on Nov 8th from Maui to LAX. She landed in LAX around 10 p.m. to make a connecting flight to New York City,” Laire Pidgeon, Kobayashi’s aunt said. Kobayashi was seen de-boarding an American Airlines flight from Maui to LAX, but she never made that connecting flight to New York, according to her family.

Hannah Kobayashi’s disappearance remains a mystery as her family and friends desperately search for answers piecing together what happened to her and what may have led to her radio silence.

Ryan Kobayashi, whose daughter Hannah went missing in Los Angeles two weeks ago, was found dead on Sunday, according to the LAPD.
