Jimmy Butler scored a game-high 26 points as the host Miami Heat defeated the Toronto Raptors 121-111 in an NBA Cup game on Friday night.

The small forward was experiencing physical pains during the match, which inevitably raised concerns among fans and the team's staff.

After exiting Wednesday’s game with 2:57 left in the third quarter on the second night of a back-to-back set, the 35-year-old Butler never re-entered as he spent the rest of the game on the Heat’s bench with a heating pad on his back.

In listing the lineups in boxscores at the start of the season, the Heat’s scoring table at Kaseya Center had listed Butler at forward. The past two games, with Terry Rozier sidelined by foot soreness, Butler has been listed at guard. Because the reality is that is exactly how Butler now is being cast and how both he and the Heat have thrived.

Jimmy Butler is expected to take the court when the Miami Heat will encounter the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday at Spectrum Center.
