The CIF Southern Section has released the first-round schedule for the girls flag football playoffs that begin Tuesday, Oct. 22.

One year after girls high school flag football launched across the state, 10 local teams will be part of the inaugural CIF-Southern Section playoffs.

Flag football was played by 120 high school teams in the CIF Southern Section last school year. This year 270 CIF-SS member schools have flag football teams, enough for the section to have its first playoffs and championship games in the sport.

Three teams from the Channel, Sunset and Trinity leagues qualify for the Southern Section Division 1 playoffs.
