Cleveland Guardians pitchers Emmanuel Clase and Luis L. Ortiz have been indicted on charges that stem from alleged gambling misconduct as it pertains to manipulating wagers on specific pitches, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of New York announced on Sunday.

Emmanuel Clase and Luis Ortiz, both of whom pitched for the Cleveland Guardians, have been on non-disciplinary paid leave since July while Major League Baseball investigated unusually high in-game betting activity when they pitched.

The Cleveland Guardians may have lost closer Emmanuel Clase due to ongoing questions surrounding off-the-field conduct, but the team's replacement may have just entered free agency in the form of Robert Suarez.
