North Plainfield is aggressively pursuing a FEMA Public Assistance declaration to securefunding for the borough's own losses, including damage to public infrastructure, municipal buildings, roads, bridges, public utilities, and the significant cost for emergency protective measures and debris removal.

Governor Greg Abbott has added four counties to the state disaster declaration following the July 4 flooding, bringing the total to 30 counties and allowing local officials to access resources to support those affected.
