Matt Vierling snapped a 1-1 tie with a single in the eighth inning as the Tigers beat the Rangers to end a 6-game losing streak.

BOTTOM LINE: The Detroit Tigers enter the matchup with the Texas Rangers as losers of six in a row. Texas has a 28-19 record at home and a 50-49 record overall. The Rangers have a 31-13 record in games when they did not give up a home run.

The Tigers limped into the All-Star Break, and they are struggling coming out of it as well. After getting shut out in the first game of the series on Friday night, Detroit had little to show for it on Saturday. Despite scoring a run, thanks to a Riley Greene homer in the ninth inning, the Tigers still came up short, losing 4-1.
