Legendary Red Sox slugger David Ortiz said players' egos sometimes play a big role in trades like the one Rafael Devers was involved in.

The Boston Red Sox shocked the baseball world when they traded Rafael Devers to the San Francisco Giants. David Ortiz thinks Devers is partly to blame.

On Monday, Ortiz spoke to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, who also works Big Papi at Fox Sports. Ortiz told Rosenthal that is was “never going to end” well between Devers and the Red Sox.
