Manhattan’s top federal prosecutor announced Monday he plans to resign from his post next month to make way for President-elect Donald Trump’s chosen replacement.

A top federal prosecutor in Manhattan is set to resign in December, the U.S. attorney’s office for the Southern District of New York said in a Monday press release. According to the release, U.S. Attorney Damian Williams said Monday that he plans to exit his current role at the U.
