Chennai Super Kings (CSK) suffered a loss by four wickets. With this, CSK marked their eighth loss of the season. Despite an improved batting performance, skipper MS Dhoni feels that the team fell short of posting a competitive total.

South African great Shaun Pollock didn’t mince his words, stating that the time has come for CSK to move on from legendary captain MS Dhoni, who led them to five IPL titles. Adam Gilchrist also reflected on Dhoni’s successful IPL career.

CSK also achieved something for the first time in their 17-year IPL history. They would have wished they had not done so. Till now they had never fallen so low but this time it was unavoidable. This is the first time that CSK have failed to make it to the playoffs in consecutive seasons.
