“With the introduction of the Chicken Big Mac, we’re excited to pay homage to one of our most iconic menu items, the Big Mac, and introduce it to a whole new generation of fans,” said Tariq Hassan, chief marketing and customer experience officer in a press release.

McDonald’s serves other chicken sandwiches. The Chicken Big Mac resembles the McChicken, which is also made with a chicken patty and served on a plain bun with shredded lettuce and mayonnaise for about $2.99. McCrispy sandwiches are made with crispy chicken fillet and served on potato rolls. They start around $5.49.

While the Chicken Big Mac is new to U.S. McDonald's restaurants, it was secretly introduced at a restaurant called "McDonnell's" last week in Los Angeles where a version of the sandwich was served, according to a news release. According to USA TODAY, the sandwich was tested in Miami in 2022 and has been available for a limited time in the U.K.

McDonald's has added the McRib back to its menus in the U.K. for a limited time, and reports say the sandwich is coming to U.S. locations soon.
