On Thursday, it was announced that Cardinal Robert Prevost has been named the new pope, he is the first American pope in history and will go by the name Pope Leo XIV who was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois.

Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams was among the residents of the Windy City who reveled in Robert Prevost's election as the new pope. The newly christened Pope Leo XIV is a Chicago native, and Williams referenced the title he's likely to hold in his hometown:
