Firefighters were getting the upper hand on the Canyon Crest Fire, burning between Jurupa Valley and Fontana. As of Saturday morning, fire officials said the brush fire had burned 284 acres but is 50% contained.

Authorities say those who require additional time to evacuate and those with pets and livestock should leave immediately.
