The popular Black Myth: Wukong is finally receiving an update with official PS5 Pro support, which is excellent news for fans of the Chinese action title. The update will be part of a larger patch, which is already available for the Epic Games Store and WeGame versions of Black Myth: Wukong.

On Wednesday, Game Science, the developers behind Black Myth: Wukong have deployed a free update that brings a challenge mode for fans to test their mettle.

The update bringing a challenge mode, in-game maps, and new armour pieces revealed for Black Myth: Wukong earlier in the week has not actually gone live yet, but it's now received a patch itself to include PS5 Pro support.

DLC is set to follow. In September, Game Science investor Hero Games confirmed plans to release an Elden Ring-style expansion for Black Myth: Wukong ahead of any sequel. Perhaps we'll get a first look at The Game Awards 2024 later this week.

Wukong is available now for all platforms, and it sure is a big one. Following a tease from game director Feng Ji a few weeks ago, fans of one of this year's best games now have more to see and do. The marquee feature in patch 1.

Black Myth: Wukong update 1.0.12.16581 introduces a new Challenge mode with boss battles and custom difficulty curses. Players can unlock rare treasures by conquering bosses in the Gauntlet of Legends, obtain new armor sets, and capture landscapes with the Journeyer's Chart.

Few bosses in Black Myth: Wukong punish carelessness quite like Yellow Loong. He doesn’t care about preferred styles or favorite attacks; those that challenge him either adapt to how he wants to fight or die continually. Unfortunately for most, his style of fighting is a combination of supremely-fast strikes and long combo chains.

Wukong update 1.0.12.16581 across all platforms, which brings new features and bug fixes. Unfortunately, the update doesn’t include any PS5 Pro specific enhancements, and there’s no word on a dedicated patch yet either.

According to Eurogamer, Black Myth's latest update introduces the Keeper's Shrine challenges, which are unlocked upon completing the game for the first time. The challenges are available in two modes: Return of Rivals and Gauntlet of Legends,
