Joe Biden, in one of his final acts as president, pardoned Dr. Anthony Fauci, retired Gen. Mark Milley and members of the House committee that investigated the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol, in an extraordinary use of executive power to guard against potential “revenge” by the new Trump administration.

Just hours before leaving office Monday, Jan. 19, President Joe Biden pardoned potential targets of Donald Trump’s second presidential administration, including Sen. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., and Rep. Pete Aguilar, D-San Bernardino.

President Biden said the pardons are not an "acknowledgment that any individual engaged in any wrongdoing" but rather protect individuals from "unjustified and politically motivated prosectutions."
