More than 20 earthquakes have hit central and southeast Asia in the last 24 hours, with one of the most powerful in 75 years in Myanmar.

One person has died and 50 were injured in a building collapse in Bangkok. A 7.7 magnitude earthquake hit central Myanmar, with tremors felt across Thailand as well as nearby Chinese provinces.

BANGKOK, Thailand (AP) — A 7.7 magnitude earthquake and an aftershock measuring 6.4 rocked Thailand and neighboring Myanmar on Friday, bringing down a high-rise building under construction in Bangkok and damaging historic buildings in Myanmar. Damage was also reported in China.
