Apple announced a big change to how it names its operating systems at WWDC 2025 on Monday . Instead of using system names like iOS 19 and macOS 19, the company will now use the year as part of the name. This means all its operating systems will be called iOS 26, iPadOS 26, macOS 26, tvOS 26, watchOS 26, and visionOS 26.

Conference season is underway, and today we’re live at Apple Park in Cupertino, California, for this year’s WWDC. While we got a glimpse of the Vision Pro in 2023 and a preview of Apple Intelligence in 2024, this year is a bit of a wild card.
