OpenAI has told an Indian court that any order to remove training data powering its ChatGPT service would be inconsistent with its legal obligations in the United States, according to a recent filing seen by Reuters.

OpenAI has told Delhi HC that the Indian courts do not have the jurisdiction to hear a copyright infringement case against the AI company.

The company said it could not delete the news agency’s content from ChatGPT as this would violate its legal obligations in the United States.
