Belum is a municipality in the district of Cuxhaven, in Lower Saxony, Germany. Belum belonged to the Prince-Archbishopric of Bremen. In the mid-16th century the inhabitants adopted Lutheranism. During the Leaguist occupation under Tilly, they suffered from attempts of re-Catholicisation.
