The school continues to function as the premier high school in Little Rock. Therefore entry to visitors is restricted. The school has active security for the safety of the students. We gained access with the tour at about 1 hour into the presentation. Ranger Randy continued his presentation in the huge auditorium. Students were present and we shared the space with them. We then stayed for questions, and continued to be impressed with Randy's passion for this subject.
Are reservations required or recommended? And, how much time should be allocated to the tour and museum?

We didn’t make any reservation, but we didn’t have any problem getting in on a (very) wet Sunday. I woulda allow up to 2 hours for the museum. It is that good. John Priddle
Never having been to Little Rock, I am concerned about safety in unfamiliar neighborhoods. Is the surrounding area OK to drive through? The website says secure valuables in car which seems a no brainer where ever you are visiting - is the visitor parking lot at Central High School especially vulnerable to breaking and entering?
